This post is for a full-time Consultant in Psychiatry of Learning Disabilitywithin our client based in Northern Ireland. The post-holder will provide psychiatric services for adults within the trust area. You will work alongside two full-time Consultant colleagues.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a comprehensive and effective mental health service for adults with a learning disability. You wil be encouraged to participate fully in clincial leadership of the service, with an expectation that the service will be modelled and bench-marked against best practice.
It is expected that the Consultant will provide clinical services at various locations across the Trust, in clinical locations and also in homes as appropriate. The geographical location of the client population and adult disability teams will mean some travel may be necessary, however tele- and video-conferencing facilities are available and should be used to ensure that time available for clinical work is optimised.
The successful applicant will benefit from and contribute to a weekly psychiatry academic programme. In addition, acaedmic links with adult mental health colleagues will be encouraged.
